Mental Health Practitioner

 – Qualifications needed for Mental Health Practitioner

Job summary and responsibilities include:

  • Provide individual skills training, and family skills training in a school or community based setting
  • Mental Health Practitioners on the licensure track will also have the opportunity to complete diagnostic assessments and therapy under supervision

  • Develop therapeutic relationships, teaching skills and supporting clients as they practice skills

  • Establish personal recovery goals, rehabilitative goals, and objectives with each client
  • Prepare individualized documentation for each session
  • Coordinate services with school staff, families/guardians of clients, case managers, and medical personnel, as appropriate

Qualifications: Must be qualified in one of the following ways:

  • Master’s or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services in the treatment of mental illness or children with emotional disturbances.
    OR
  • Has at least 4,000 hours of supervised work experience in the delivery of services to adults or children

Additional qualifications include:

  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate mentally stable and model appropriate boundaries
  • Timely and accurate submission of documentation of services and other documents as required

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance

 

Clinical Supervisor/Mental Health Professional.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group supervision to ARMHS therapists
  • Lead the program development for delivery of clinical mental health services

Qualifications: Education:

  • Master’s degree in psychology or closely related field in an accredited program;

  • Licensure to practice in Minnesota as a Licensed Psychologist (LP) or
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) or
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
  • Board certified clinical supervisor

Required Experience:

  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience providing individual, family, and group therapy post masters level graduation and at least 1 year of clinical supervision experience
  • Knowledge of community resources and how to access them
  • Experience with third party billing and electronic health record system is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and to make decisions under pressure
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Must have access to a reliable car and possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license and insurance
  • Training and experience in evidence based practice model is desirable
  • At least 2 years of work providing diagnostic assessments, developing treatment plans and maintaining all clinical documentation

Knowledge of resources related to trauma, sexual violence, domestic violence, sexual exploitation and trafficking and how to access them.
